My client is the leading engineering equipment supplier within the UK, offering various types of equipment to customers nationwide.  We require a HSEQ Manager who can taking ownership of the HSEQ function for the company, in a thoroughly autonomous role with a high degree of responsibility,

The Role

This will be reporting to the CEO where you will be completely responsible for all Quality and Health & Safety within the company.  The role will be based in the company’s main headquarters in West Yorkshire, however there will be an aspect where you will be expected to travel across the UK and overseas, together with the option to work from home.  Around 60% of your time will be spent in the office in West Yorkshire, the remainder will be spent out in the field (visiting the other site in Winsford, at customers premises, or working from home).

There are 3 main areas in this role which are to provide Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety compliance to both internal and external people associated with the company.

Quality

Preparing and executing ISO 9001 and other industry standards within the business and ensuring all compliance is kept up to date.  This will include carrying out internal auditing together with reviews and documentation control.

Environmental

  • Promote and engage across all locations, employees and customers with the objective to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.

Health & Safety

You will be responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety at work across all the company’s locations nationwide.  This includes:

  • Reviewing and developing the Health & Safety Policy.
  • Promoting Health & Safety at work across all locations, customers and customers.
  • Arranging assessments and method statements.
  • Maintaining records of any incidents and ensuring that they are fully investigated.
  • Ensuring all company equipment is inspected in accordance to programmes.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders both internal and external.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years experience of quality management systems, implementing improvement procedures and awareness
  • Health & Safety legislation (NEBOSH) Level 3 or equivalent
  • Implementation and leading ISO9001. Preferable to also have knowledge of ISO17025
  • Strong skills in communication, problem solving and commercial awareness
  • Experience of direct management as you will have direct reports
  • To have direct experience within a specific quality or health & safety role
  • Preferable to have HND/HNC qualification ideally from an engineering background
  • Driving licence and UK/EU passport and willing to travel
  • Ideally be based in the West Yorkshire or North West England region as the majority of your time will be spent in Halifax (West Yorkshire) and Winsford (Cheshire)

 

Package

My client is offering an exceptional salary between £42-48,000 per annum, the option to work from home, Company vehicle with fuel, Laptop, Life Insurance, Pension scheme.
